Task:
We were tasked with engineering a modern, responsive digital news platform for the local audience in Sumy, designed to deliver real-time news updates effectively and reliably.
A central objective was constructing an intuitive content architecture with distinct news categories, enabling seamless navigation and fast content discovery. High priority was placed on user experience, editorial legibility, and sub-second page load speeds—critical factors for high-traffic news portals.
Additionally, key requirements encompassed flawless mobile responsiveness, deploying a flexible Content Management System for the editorial team, and optimizing the backend infrastructure to handle high-volume publishing and peak traffic demands.
Execution:
We initiated the project by analyzing digital media architectures, target reader demographics, and content consumption patterns. This allowed us to construct a streamlined information architecture categorized by news verticals, topical sections, and varied content formats.
During the UX prototyping phase, we mapped out site layouts for the homepage, vertical hubs, and article pages, optimizing reader engagement pathways. The core focus was placed on accelerating time-to-content and ensuring frictionless browsing.
The UI design was crafted in a modern, minimalist aesthetic designed to maximize content legibility and editorial clarity. We eliminated visual noise to keep journalism at the forefront while ensuring a fully mobile-first user experience.
During engineering, we delivered a responsive front-end, optimized page performance, and ensured backend stability under high-volume publishing conditions. We also integrated an intuitive CMS, empowering the editorial team to publish breaking news, modify assets, and manage content taxonomies effortlessly.
Following rigorous end-to-end testing, the platform was deployed. The final deliverable is a high-performance news ecosystem that offers readers an effortless content experience while providing the editorial team with an agile publishing workflow.
